The World’s Largest Lesson… Thought for the Day 28/9/2015

What are ‘The Global Goals’? Three years in the making, 17 goals, 169 targets, 193 countries: the moment has arrived for the world to stride towards a better future. Will vision become reality? On September 25th 2015, 193 world leaders will commit to 17 Global Goals to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years. End extreme poverty. Fight inequality & injustice. Fix climate change. The Global Goals for sustainable development could get these things done, in all countries, for all people. If the goals are going to work, everyone needs to know about them. You can’t fight for your rights if you don’t know what they are. You can’t convince world leaders to do what needs to be done if you don’t know what you’re convincing them to do. If the goals are famous, they won’t be forgotten. It is best summed up by this statement: “We only have one planet. We have nowhere else to go. If we use our creative powers properly we don’t need anywhere else. If we take care of it, and each other, everything we need is right here” Watch ‘The World’s Largest Lesson’ Video

What are the 17 Global Goals? Which do you think is the most important? Is there anything else that you think you could add?

The World’s Largest Lesson Today during each lesson you will have a 5 minute starter focusing on the 17 Global Goals. To start with watch the following video: Watch ‘We are the people’ Video Why are these people using their voice to spread this message? What was the most important part of their message? Can we all make a difference?
