Challenges From Cornelius Acts 10
Cornelius Shows Us… It is not enough to be good, one must become a Christian. However, it is not enough for one to be a Christian, he must also be good.
1. Devout v. 2 “pious, reverent, earnest, sincere.” Can I be described as “devout”?
2. Feared God vs. 2, 22 “reverence, awe” Shown in his willingness to obey everything that God has commanded - vs. 33-35 Can I be described as “fearing God”?
3. Influenced Others For Good vs. 2, 24 Do I use my influence to encourage others to become Christians and serve God?
4. Generous v. 2 Galatians 6:10 James 1:27, 2:14-17 Can it be said that I do much in the way of helping others?
5. Prayed To God Always v. 2 1 Thessalonians 5:17 I am a child of God, but how often do I pray?
6. A Just, Righteous Man v. 22 He was fair and upright in his dealings with others. He did not misuse his authority as a soldier (Luke 3:14). Am I considered an honest and fair person?
7. Good Reputation v. 22 Proverbs 22:1 What kind of reputation do I have with others?
8. Humble vs. 5-6 Am I humble enough to admit that I need help, and to receive God’s instructions, regardless of who the messenger may be?
9. Eager To Learn and To Do vs. 33, 48 Acts 17:11 James 1:22 Am I a doer of the word, or just an unfruitful hearer?
