Portfolio management - monitoring report 1. ESS Vision 2020 – portfolio Portfolio management - monitoring report The ESS Vision 2020 portfolio is on track and delivery confidence remains high. Leaving the supporting framework on Cooperation Models (for which we will have a more in-depth presentation under item 5) aside for the moment, I would like to take the opportunity to draw your attention to some recent highlights of the various projects: The project with amber delivery confidence is SERV. The delivery confidence became amber as the delay for releasing the new versions of the catalogue (2 per year), persist.

2. ESS Vision 2020 – portfolio ADMIN BIGD The methodological helpdesk is now operational and accessible to colleagues throughout the ESS; 2018 ESTP training course on "Moving towards register based statistical system" is under preparation. BIGD Follow-up of the Big Data Hackathon on online job vacancies was organised in September 2017 at the premises of CEDEFOP- topic "From competition to cooperation"; A stocktaking of the existing skills within NSIs, is carried out by means of questionnaires and interviews. The outcome of the survey is expected to be ready by November 2017.

ESS Vision 2020 – portfolio DIGICOM ESBRs Launch of the experimental statistics web pages in June six publications have been disseminated; Preparations for the European Statistics Competition are ongoing (12 NSIs confirmed their participation). ESBRs 70% of the Member States expressed interest to participate to the interoperability pilots - guarantees full coverage of all topics - kick-off 2018 Q1; Profiling T. F. concluded unanimously that are necessary adjustments of European Profiling methodology, as a result the Interactive Profiling Tool (IPT) prototype will be adapted accordingly.

ESS Vision 2020 – portfolio ESDEN SERV The Trans European Services for Telematics between Administrations (TESTA) - secure network is also available together with CCN; The EDAMIS (Electronic Data files administration and Management Information System) offers standard solutions for exchanging files. The migration plan from EDAMIS 3 to EDAMIS 4 has been established, with migration to be completed by March 2018. SERV The static version was recently released; Dynamic version of the Service Catalogue is expected to be available by 2018 Q1.

3. ESS Vision 2020 – portfolio EA Qual An in-depth analysis (including gap analysis and recommended actions) of the ESBRs Interoperability Architecture was carried out presented to ESBRs TF; In December will be released a new ESS EA Reference framework. Qual A contract was signed in 2017 Q3 on Action 3 'Develop the conceptual elements of a Common Quality Framework for the ESS'. The final deliverable for task 3A, which aims to collect the experiences and best practices on quality management in the ESS is expected for December 2017.

3. ESS Vision 2020 – portfolio Cooperation Models The progress report on the implementation of the cooperation models improvement actions was presented to the RDG on 27-28 April 2017. The next progress report will be presented to the RDG in its 2018 meeting.
