Whole Class Learning Monday 3rd September 9.30-11.00

Whole Class Learning What has been the impact of training in Sep 2017? What still needs to be done to develop whole class work? The value of the team and the power of the teacher Reflect on our teaching and identify how we can learn more from colleagues

“The way a team plays as a whole determines its success “The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime.” George Herman Ruth, Jr I learned early to drink beer, wine and whiskey. And I think I was about 5 when I first chewed tobacco.

Power of the Team Thanks to teams -– big play, dom st, samba, team of teachers I observed - high quality lessons, acting on feedback; what do you contribute to the team the power of a name; be like... (big play); Summary – power of AF teams enables us to provide high quality teaching, engage and motivate children and young people in Leeds, provide large scale performance opportunities for Leeds schools

Something to think about Haim G. Ginott (5 August 1922 – 4 November 1973) was a school teacher, a child psychologist and psychotherapist and a parent educator. He pioneered techniques for conversing with children that are still taught today. Teacher and Child, pub Macmillan 1972

Whole Class Learning

Power of the teacher share with colleague one occasion where you have positively influenced behaviour, think about one where your reaction ended negatively – don’t share, highlights from lesson obs – what is outstanding provision? Do you know what is expected? Do you know how you could improve? Do you know how you can get help to improve? RS ask those questions later this session; Eg Josh behaviour feedback – we don’t know what we don’t know; Observations – how many have had an impact? Be brave, be open; learn by observing others ;
