Writing tips

Things to remember when writing… “alot” IS NOT A WORD!! a lot Indent your paragraphs. Capitalize names and titles. Use quotation marks around direct quotes and story titles. Use typical paragraph structure… Don’t write just one long paragraph. Use plenty of support (more is better than less). Mix it up… Use direct quotes and paraphrasing. NEVER write an elementary school sentence: I am going to tell you about… I just told you about…

There’s always room for improvement… When using myaccess.com, stay aware of their advice and don’t be afraid to submit for score often! Before you settle on a final submission, reread it to yourself (out loud if possible) to make sure it “sounds” the way you intended. Don’t stress out. The art of writing is complicated and you only improve your writing skills by writing!! : )
