I have Cockayne Syndrome here is what you need to know about caring for me I will develop Hypervolemia easily when given a maintenance IV rate. My kidneys can not manage the increase in fluid. It is suggested to give the lowest rate possible or half maintenance for my size. I can not be given Flagyl. My liver is very sensitive and Flagyl increases my risk of going into liver failure. But don’t be alarmed if you see my liver panel is off. My AST/ALT is usually elevated 2x, 3x and even 4x normal. Look on the back to see my allergies & medication list with dosing.
