September 25, 2018 District 5 SUN Trail Update Coast to Coast Stakeholder Meeting September 25, 2018 District 5 SUN Trail Update Good Morning, I think most of you know me. I am Heather Garcia. I oversee District 5’s Planning and Corridor studies in the PLEMO office but I also act as the district’s SUN Trail Program Coordinator. I am here today to talk to you about FDOT’s $25 Million dollar annual commitment to developing Florida’s trail system. These are exciting times for trails. Heather Garcia District 5 SUN Trail Program Coordinator

District Five is ‘Filling in the Gaps’ Florida’s Coast to Coast Trail 250 total miles / 135 miles in District Five NOW COMPLETE: 424040-4 ECRRT US 1 from Kingman Rd to Volusia County Line, 12.8 miles FDOT led (Design – Build) Ribbon Cutting held February 23, 2018 436434-1 Spring to Spring Trail from Wayside Park to Lake Monroe, 0.48 miles First SUN Trail funded C2C project to be constructed in D5 FDOT led Complete May 2018 415434-3 and -9 ECRRT in Volusia, 20.2 Miles total (~8.5 miles on Coast to Coast) Local Agency Program (LAP) Led by Volusia County (Design – Build) Ribbon Cutting held Friday, September 21, 2018 Closes gap on East Coast Greenway, St. Johns River to Sea Loop and Coast to Coast Trail Now continuous connectivity from Osteen to Edgewater and Osteen to Brevard County Since the last time we presented on the status of C2C, we’ve completed approximately 22 more miles. The 2 Volusia projects connect 20.2 miles total. 2 2 Florida Department of Transportation 2 2 2

SUN Trail Future Funding through FY 24 13 ongoing projects programmed 8 projects to be constructed by FY 24 Adding 16.7 miles of trail on C2C Looking to fund all remaining gaps as projects move forward and funding becomes available Some phase of funding on all remaining gaps on C2C. Doesn’t necessarily mean they’re ready for construction yet. This information is always subject to change. We are expecting projects deferrals this year, but which projects will be deferred has not yet been determined. The deferrals are related to district funding not SUN Trail funding. D5 programmed the majority of C2C prior to receiving SUN Trail funds. It’s important to note that other portions of the C2C Trail are progressing besides those funded with SUN Trail money. These other projects are in various phases of development and have been funded through a combination of various local, state and federal sources. Currently 5 out of the 12 active (ongoing) projects are funded with SUN Trail. The remaining are funded with “other” District funds. Once Guise to Gobblers Lodge Rd in Volusia County is complete there will only be a .349 mile section (Lake Monroe Park S2S) remaining to be completed on the C2C in Volusia County!!! The Lake Monroe Park connection is programmed for construction in FY 2020. 435471-1 South Sumter Trail Withlacoochee State Trail to Van Fleet (19.08 miles) PD&E FY 18 435471-2 South Sumter Trail SR 471 from SR 50 to CR 478 (4.03 miles) CST in FY 23 435893-1 South Lake Trail from Van Fleet State Trail to Villa City Rd (7.537 miles) ROW through FY 24 422570-3 South Lake Trail from SR 33 to Silver Eagle Rd (2.185 miles) CST FY 24 436435-1 Orange County Gap Segment 1 (0.28 miles) CST FY 20 436433-1 N Hiawassee Rd to N of SR414 on SR 441 (3.619 miles) CST FY 23 436434-2 Lake Monroe Park to Old DeLand Rd (0.349 miles) CST FY 20 415434-8 Guise Rd to Gobbler’s Lodge (3.487 miles) Design-Build FY 18 436187-2 Space Coast Trail SR 406 from Indian River to W. of Max Brewer Bridge (0.346 miles) CST FY 20 *Recently moved the CST phase in 2 years (from 22 to 20)* 436187-3 Space Coast Trail from East End of Max Brewer Bridge to MINWR (2.42 miles) CST FY 19   437093-1 Space Coast Trail from Max Brewer Causeway to Atlantic Ocean (4.305 miles) PD&E FY 18, PE FY22 437093-2 Space Coast Trail from MINWR Park Entrance to Playa Linda Parking Lot (10.6 miles) PE FY 19 427056-1 SR 50/SR 33 from CR 565 (Villa City) to CR 565 A (1.0 mile) in ROW 3 3 Florida Department of Transportation 3 3 3
