Task 1: Spend a moment brainstorming words you know as Gaeilge on this topic. Think of verbs to describe your daily tasks. Make notes! Then move on to the next slide!

Task 5: Try to compose a few sentences about your daily tasks, using Edel’s recording as a model. Option: Send the recording to a fellow-parent in your class (on your phone, maybe) if you can, and get some feedback on your effort!

Language corner Note the structure ‘buaileann sí lena cairde’ – she meets her friends. You have to be careful with this structure! Look at these sentences: Bhuail mé Seán (I hit Seán!) Bhuail mé le Seán (I met Seán!) Bhuail mé mo chairde (I hit my friends!) Bhuail mé le mo chairde (I met my friends) Now you try to compose some sentences! Use the ones below as a model – the various prepositional pronouns are outlined: (liom, leat, leis, léi, linn, libh, leo). Make sure you are meeting people, rather than hitting them! Bhuail sí liom inné. She met me yesterday. Buailfidh mé leat amárach. I’ll meet you tomorrow. Bhuail Máire leis inné. Máire met him yesterday. Ar bhuail Aoife léi fós? Did Aoife meet her yet? An mbuailfidh tú linn Dé Luain? Will you meet us on Monday? Buailfidh mé libh i lár na cathrach. I will meet you (plural) in the city centre. Bhuail Caoimhe leo Dé Máirt. Caoimhe met them on Tuesday.
