Lesson 24: Analyzing Contrasting Points of View The Odyssey Lesson 24: Analyzing Contrasting Points of View Students will analyze the representation of the siren scene from Book Twelve in two different artistic mediums.

Complete activity two on your handout.

Create a thematic statement based on John William Waterhouse’s “Ulysses and the Sirens.” Remember that a thematic statement: Should be declarative Should be universal Should not be bound by time, genre, culture, etc. Should reveal a truth about human nature DO NOT include: Author’s name Title of work Character’s name Personal pronouns (I, you, me, etc.)

Locate the TP-CASTT chart under Activity 4 on your handout. You will have one minute to complete this step.
