Presentation transcript:

Have you been interested in the work done by your child/school regarding the issue of recycling? All of the parents said they had been interested, but only 10 replied.

Have you changed the way you sort out your waste since the first questionnaire? Parent’s said that they are already sort their waste. This is supported by the comments made from Rochford Council regarding the children’s knowledge.

Have you been looking for more information about the recycling issue? Parent’s replied that they already receive sufficient information from Rochford Council informing them how to sort their waste.

Do you know what kind of materials have been used by your child’s class during this school year?

Which? Parent’s replied that they knew we had been using: Metal Fabric Clothing Yogurt pots Plastic bottles Cardboard boxes Shoe boxes Tins

Are you happy with the recycling procedures in your area?

Have you seen the Comenius display in the school reception? This is a significant improvement on last year, when only 1 parent had seen the Comenius display in the school hall. The display has now moved to the reception and a letters have been distributed to remind parent’s to visit it.

Did you give back the first questionnaire? Unfortunately the response to the questionnaire was very poor again, with 3 less respondents than this time last year.

Do you think your child’s understanding of the recycling issue has improved?

How? “Doesn’t just throw stuff in any bin” “Somewhat, as we are already very good at recycling!” “She is aware many things are reused” “He knows what we keep to recycle and take to school” “They talk about recycling rubbish and how not recycling can damage our world”

Is your child showing an interest in recycling?

How? “Likes putting the rubbish in the right bin” “She knows and tells us what should/should not be recycled” “Sorting the recycling at home” “She will ask what goes in what bin” “When the cereal boxes are finished he knows what bin they go in to” “Talking about what can be recycled and what can’t”

Has your child begun to use recycled material’s to make their own artwork/objects/junk models etc at home?

What have they made? All sorts Cars Trucks Ships Crowns Robots

Have you heard of the nationwide project ‘Let’s Do It’. No one has heard of the project.

Summary Parent’s are more aware of what the children are doing in school They believe the children have a very good understanding of recycling Households are already good at sorting waste so haven’t had to change the way they sort their rubbish Children have learned how to reuse materials to make toys instead of throwing the waste away

Thank you for watching Reduce Reuse Recycle
