School for Disabled and Special Needs Students Number of Employees: 4,000 across multiple locations Challenge: Client was unhappy with their health plan’s Wellness Program because of limited activities, delays in reporting and low employee participation. They were interested in retaining a few features of the program that were working well (i.e. Weight Watchers, health coaching). In addition, management had difficulty communicating with employees across more than a dozen locations.

Solution: Their Health Advocate Wellness Program Consultant: Worked with the client’s management team to develop a program with wider appeal to attract more participants Worked to understand the distinct needs of each location Designed a communications campaign to increase awareness and drive participation Integrated their existing Weight Watchers program Added incentives around Health Coaching Offered more activities such as organization-wide challenges and workshops Enhanced reporting to provide location-specific utilization statistics Published a testimonial in the company’s newsletter from an employee whose life was changed by participating in the program

Results: Significant increases in engagement from 2015 to 2016: 46% increase in coaching engagements 40% increase in use of one or more features of the program 300% increase in use of four or more features of the program 90% increase in completed online workshops 160% increase in challenge participation 50% increase in health tracker usage
