Age of the Patriarchs

Call of Abram whose name was changed to Abraham Genesis 11:27-32 Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot. 28 And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees. 29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah. 30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child. 31 And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. 32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran. Gen 12:1-3 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:  2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee,

God renames Abram Abraham Father of many nations and Kings thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:  3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed God renames Abram Abraham Father of many nations and Kings Gen 17:4-8 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.  5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.  6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. Abraham – Father of many nations – exceedingly fruitful Sarai (wife) – gave birth to Issac Keturah (wife) – six sons Hagar (concubine) – Ishmael Kings shall come out of thee 12 Princes of ishmael

Joshua 1:4 confirming the extant of the promised land to Abraham 12 Princes of Israel (Abraham – Issac – Jacob (name change to Israel) – 12 sons 14 dukes of Edom Gen 36:15-19 Further along the line – King David, King Solomon – Jesus Christ – son of God Gen 17:7,8 ¶ And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.  8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. Joshua 1:4 confirming the extant of the promised land to Abraham Joshua 1:4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast.

Abraham – Ishmael: Promises to the Arab nations Genesis 16:1-2 Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was 2 And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. Genesis 16:5-11 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee. 6 But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face. 7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. 8 And he said, Hagar, Sarai's maid, whence camest thou? and whither wilt thou go? And she said, I flee from the face of my mistress Sarai. 9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy

mistress, and submit thyself under her hands. 10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. 11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction. Genesis 25:12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid, bare unto Abraham: 13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam, 14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, 15 Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah: 16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. 17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.

God has certainly made promises to the sons of Ishmael who have become the Arabs. Over 4000 years the Arab nations have been blessed. Arabs control 3 million square miles on planet earth and 2/3 of the oil resources that have made many rich and prosperous.

In direct proportion to land size of Arab countries here is a picture of current size of Israel that the Arabs want for themselves but God gave it to the children of Abraham, Issac and Jacob and the seed of the children of Israel. God had changed Jacob’s name to Israel. Israel

Isaac – Genesis 24 Genesis 17:17 Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? 18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! 19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. Genesis 18:9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. 10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12 Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?

Abraham offering up Isaac – a picture of God offering His Son - Jesus 13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? 14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. 15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. Genesis 21:5 And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. Abraham offering up Isaac – a picture of God offering His Son - Jesus Genesis 22:1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. 2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. 3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. 5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. 6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. 7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? 8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. 9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. 15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Abraham Issac – Father’s only son (Gen 22:2) Issac carried wood he was to be sacrificed on Issac about 33 years old Issac was dead in the mind of Abraham for 3 days God spared Issac and a Ram caught in a thicket of thorns was offered The ram took Issac’s place so Issac could live The Ram was offered on Mount Moriah God the Father Jesus – Father’s only Son Jesus carried cross He was sacrficed on Jesus was 33 years old Jesus was 3 days dead God offered Jesus who wore a crown of thorns Jesus the lamb of God took our place so we could live forever (eternal life John 3:16) Jesus offered on Mount Calvery

Events concerning Mount Moriah Jacob's dream, according to Rabbinic Scholars, was on Mount Moriah. 840 B.C. - Solomon built the First Temple on Mount Moriah, Jerusalem 520-515 B.C. - The Temple was rebuilt on Mount Moriah, Jerusalem under Zerubbabel. In 37 B.C., Herod the Great added to Zerubbabel's Temple located on Mount Moriah to such an extent that this Temple became known as "Herod's Temple." This was the Temple of Jesus' day. In 70 A.D., the Romans under Titus destroyed "Herod's Temple." Jesus Christ - Crucified on Golgotha - adjacent to Mount Moriah: Matthew 27:33, Mark 15:22, Luke 23:33, John 19:17

"The Dome of the Rock" on Mount Moriah is a Moslem Mosque that tradition says is built over the spot where: (1) Isaac was to be sacrificed (2) Jacob's dream occurred (Gen 28:10-22) (3) The Lord God appeared to David (1 Chronicles 22:1) (4) The Holy of Holies of Solomon's Temple was located (5) The Holy of Holies of Herod's Temple was located (6) Mohammed left the earth -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Three world religions revere Father Abraham, Jerusalem, and Mount Moriah as holy: 1. Judaism 2. Christianity 3. Islam

Dome of the Rock The "Wailing Wall," or "Western Wall" is the walled enclosure that was around "Herod's Temple," and is not actually a wall of the Temple building.

Jacob – Genesis 24 Genesis 25:20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian. 21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. 23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. 24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. Genesis 25:29 And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: 30 And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that

same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. 31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Jacob wrestled with the Angel of the Lord who changed Jacob’s name (Jacob meaning ‘deceiver’) to ‘Israel’ meaning ‘A Prince with God’ Genesis 32:25 And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. 26 And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. 27 And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. 28 And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.
