Newton’s Law of Cooling To express the cooling of objects using calculus and exponentials

Why do engineers need to know this? Car engines cease to work effectively once they overheat Newton’s Law of Cooling helps engineers to understand better how an object cools and therefore to help keep an engine operating at an efficient temperature Newton's Law of Cooling states that the rate of change of the temperature of an object is proportional to the difference between its own temperature and the ambient temperature

Experiment You are going to model the cooling of a car engine using calorimeters filled with boiled water You will use a variety of insulating materials to decide the best way to allow heat to effectively leave the car engine
