Highways Inspection Manager Karen Lucas Highways Inspection Manager I started 9 years ago assisting the inspectors and over that time, took the opportunity to learn on the job starting at ground level and working my way up. Keeping the network safe is my greatest priority and I find it satisfying to find a defect which we can action and make safe for the travelling public. I now have a team of 6 inspectors who travel the network every day and report to me. I also work closely with the asset team and enjoy interacting with them regarding schemes which are planned in as I can help with background and network knowledge. My role is a busy one and never 9 – 5 and although it can be quite stressful at times, I wouldn’t have it any other way. #INWED17 A-one+
