Presentation transcript:

Dear Parents, We read a story in class called Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown and will begin a new class project using Stanley, but we need your help! Take a look at a brief overview of the story and what our project will consist of. THE FLAT STANLEY STORY Stanley Lambchop and his younger brother Arthur are given a big bulletin board by their father to display pictures and posters. He hangs it on the wall over Stanley's bed. During the night, the board falls from the wall, flattening Stanley in his sleep. He survives without a scratch and makes the best of his altered state! Soon he is entering locked rooms by sliding under the door and playing with his younger brother by being used as a kite. He even helps catch some thieves in an art museum by posing as a painting on the wall! One special advantage is that Flat Stanley can now visit his friends in California by being mailed in an envelope. DIRECTIONS: Students will be given one weekend (Fri-Mon) with Stanley Lambchop to take responsibility of him and have him share in the fun of your child and your family. Students should take pictures with Flat Stanley and caption what is taking place. Please be careful with Flat Stanley while keeping him, we want him in the best shape possible as he visits different families. Be sure to email pictures on Sunday night to (insert email here). Please make sure Flat Stanley makes it back to the school the following Monday (unless it’s a holiday).
