The Battle of Lexington and Concord By: Isaac Yardy, and Bryce Kershner

Introduction On the night of April 18, 1775, hundreds of british troops marched from nearby Boston to Concord in order to seize an arms cache. Learning of the british soldiers plans, Paul Revere and the other riders sounded the alarm, and the colonial militiamen began mobilizing to intercept the redcoat column. Once the british troops had made it to lexington, they were just as soon hastily retreating under heavy fire.

The British The colonists

Introduction Con... What motivated the battle of lexington and Concord was growing tension between the colonists and England. Taxes, the Boston Massacre, and the Boston Tea Party were key parts to rising conflict between them. The only main people in the Battle of Lexington and Concord were the riders (William Dawes, Paul Revere, Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Samuel Prescott), who warned the colonist militiamen that “The British were coming”

Why were the British coming to Concord The british were going to Concord ( they were going to Concord, but were stopped by the militiamen at lexington) to seize a weapons cache. The british wanted to seize this weapon cache to try and reduce the probability of an armed uprising of the colonists. On their way from Boston they were then stopped in lexington, where the battle took place.

Conclusion The Americans won the battle. The British retreated back to Boston. The Battle of Concord proved to the British that the American army was not just a band of unorganized rebels, but an army that deserved respect. The Battles of Lexington and Concord took place on April 19, 1775.
