Harold Lloyd Grew up in the mid-West Family moved to California in 1910 Lloyd initially worked with the Edison Film Company Made some early short films with Keystone Studios Eventually worked at Hal Roach studios

Safety Last (1923) Success of this film allowed Lloyd to become an independent producer (like Chaplin and Keaton) Lloyd was the most profitable film performer of the 1920’s

Harold Lloyd and Hal Roach together created his “Glass” character “a resourceful, success- seeking, go-getter” His films were known for: Chases Daredevil physical stunts
