The Difference Between Life and Death Awesome adaptations The Difference Between Life and Death Go through ppt with students and have them 1. id the adaptation(s) and 2. explain how they help the organism survive

PUFFER FISH Defense: artificial size and spikes

BASALISK LIZARD Defense: flee from predators

CHEMELEON Offense: hunt prey from distance

GECKO FOOT Both offense and defense, can climb pretty much anything

FLYING SQUIRREL

POISON DART FROG Defense:

Viceroy butterfly Defense

TUFTED DEER Found in China: use teeth during mating fights between males and eat meat

PEACOCK Large tails attract females though these males are not the best fighters (smaller tails = better fighters). Great example of sexual selection.

MOTH Defense: looks like owl

flight Awesome advantage to predators and allows them to evade as well
