Presentation transcript:

RUNOFF

The movement of water on a surface to areas of lower elevation.

ACCUMULATION

A buildup or gathering of something that occurs over time.

PRECIPITATION

Rain, snow, sleet, and hail that falls from clouds in the sky.

CONDENSATION

Physical change in matter from a gas to a liquid.

EVAPORATION

Physical change in matter from a liquid to a gas.

WATERCYCLE

The constant movement of water through the land, air, oceans, and living things.

SALT WATER

Water found in oceans (and few lakes) that contains 3-4% salt.

FRESH WATER

Water found in rivers, lakes, glaciers, ice sheets, and underground that contains low concentrations of salt.

OCEAN

The entire body of saltwater that covers about 71% of Earth.

GROUND WATER

Water that collects in cracks and pores in underground soil and rock layers.
