Activity 1.1.2 Kun Yu

Design Elements: Vertical Lines Smooth Texture Design Principals Symmetrical Balance Regular Rhythm This building has regular rhythm because of its repetitive use of columns and the little edges sticking out at the top of the building.

Design Elements: Horizontal Lines Warm Colors Curved Shapes Design Principals Asymmetrical Balance Regular Rhythm Contrast in the roof and the walls This building has curved shapes because of its use of arches as a major focal point in the design of the building.

Design Elements: Horizontal Lines Vertical Lines Cool Colors Smooth Texture Design Principals Horizontal Balance Regular Rhythm This building has regular rhythm because of its rectangular shapes in the design of the walls and windows.

Design Elements: Horizontal Lines Vertical Lines Cool Colors Design Principals Horizontal Balance Graduated Rhythm This building has graduated rhythm because of the progressive increase in the complexity of the design of the 3-window segements.

Design Elements: Vertical Lines Smooth Texture Design Principals Symmetrical Balance Regular Rhythm This building has vertical lines because of its repetitive use of vertical lines at the top of the building to show the different levels.

Design Elements: Curved Lines Smooth Texture Warm Colors Design Principals Horizontal Balance This building has horizontal balance, because if the ups building were to cut in the middle horizontally, it would be symmetrical.

Design Elements: Curved Lines Smooth Texture Cool Colors Design Principals Contrast between top and bottom This building has contrast, because the top of the building is curved while the bottom uses straight lines.

Design Elements: Horizontal Lines Cool Colors Design Principals Emphasis on roof Regular rhythm Contrast This building has emphasis on the roof, because the color of it stands out from the rest of the building, as the green is a unique color in contrast to the building.

Design Elements: Curved Lines Cool Colors Design Principals Unity on the doorway Emphasis on the doorway Contrast This building has contrast, because while the doorway is curved and has a circular shape, the buildings on the inside have shapes that are straight and boxy.

Design Elements: Vertical Lines Smooth Texture Design Principals Vertical Balance Regular Rhythm This building has the element of vertical lines, because the design of the building shows the emphasis on the columns that separate the windows.
