Past Tense Diaries mostly focus on what has already happened WHAT? How to write a DIARY WHY? WHEN? Description Use vibrant language and lots of adjectives to help the reader build an image; simile and metaphors work well Style Include a date and perhaps start with… ‘Dear Diary,…’ Key Events Focus on significant experiences Emotions Use evocative language A Century’s Memories
