PSAT Writing and language test Tips and Overview

Overview of the Writing and Language Test 44 passage-based revising and editing multiple choice questions 35 minutes Asks you to use your knowledge of revising and editing to improve text within a passage

Writing And Language Test Tips You are essentially being asked to revise and edit the work of an unspecified writer. You will be asked to revise text for “development, organization, and effective use of language” as well as edit for proper grammar, usage and mechanics. “The best answer to each question represents how a writer should develop, organize, and use language in a multiparagraph passage”. Most of the questions will give you three alternatives to the underlined portion of text, along with an option to make no changes.
