The Lead beneficiary of the project is Klaipeda Science and Technology Park Projects is financed By South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013 The total budget of the Oversize project amounts to 761.610 EUR – thereof 635,568.50 EUR are ERD funding.

Project Objectives General Objective: To improve quality of oversize cargo transportation services and interoperability of reallocation of large items in the South Baltic area. Direct objectives: 1. To develop a new Oversize transportation strategy increasing regions economical attractiveness; 2. To develop an SBR oversize transportations information network to improve transport operations (One stop shop for transportation permits, study and routes); 3. Develop a regions oversize transportation study marking the routs, transportation infrastructure and intermodality improving oversize transportation affectivity; 4. Transforming the oversize transportation improvement solutions to the regions policy; 5. Improving the business and infrastructure cooperation developing regions competitiveness in global transportation market.

Activities As to reach the project’s objective several activities, classified in 5 components , have to be implemented, such us: 1. Framework of information collection and evaluation for oversize strategy development;2. Regional oversize strategies of OT development; 3.Marking the roads/directions of oversize transportation along the SB coast. Oversize map;4. Study for the oversize legislation evaluation and improvement; 5. Infrastructural and technological development study for the safe and effective transportation on marked roads; 6. Strategy of economical impact;7. Technical and Informational conditions for OTIN development;8. Setting the web based tool for sharing and developing oversize transportation information development;9. Handbook for oversize transportation technical, legislative and geographical information necessary for permit issue and effective and safe transportation development and publishing;10. OTIN implementation: web network of OT regulation institutions; lobbing sessions;11. Oversize strategy implementation in to the business community;12. Establishing the infrastructural and technological connections for the strategy execution;13. Business training on safety and technology implementation issues and international marketing attracting the cargo flow; 14. Study visits sharing the good practice-cooperation instead competition.

Expected results 4 Regional oversize transportation strategies ; General Oversize Strategy for South Baltic Sea region, comprising: A) IT based framework for regional and general strategy development B) Map for oversize transportation corridors SB region C) Recommendations for oversize transportation legislation improvement D) evaluation on economical impact; Up to 3 per region oversize transportation routes identified; Investment technological proposal developed for oversize transportation improvement.; Up to 5 bottlenecks for cross boarder oversize transportation relevance specified . "OTIN (Oversize Transport Information Network) Web-based tool for oversize transportation information network developed, comprising: A) Legislative information on oversize transportation, B) Oversize transportation route map downloaded, C) Tool for the common SB region oversize transportation permits issuing; 4 Handbooks prepared for oversize transportation in SB region
