Presentation transcript:

James, the Lord’s Brother Mark 6:3; Galatians 1:19 Jesus had a brother named James who made a spiritual journey from unbeliever and scoffer, to becoming a witness of Jesus’ resurrection and a key figure in the early church. He is mentioned outside the Bible, and his burial box has even recently been discovered. His journey to faith can help us on our journey to faith. A Journey From Faithlessness to Faith

A Journey From Faithlessness to Faith James was… The Lord's brother (Mark 6:3; Galatians 1:19) An Unbeliever and Scoffer (Mark 3:21; John 7:3-5) A Witness… To miracles (John 2:12) To Jesus' popularity (Matthew 12:46) To the resurrected Christ (1 Corinthians 15:7)

A Journey From Faithlessness to Faith James became… A Believer (Acts 1:13-14) A Church Leader (Gal. 1:18-19; 2:9-12; Acts 21:18; 12:17; 15:13-21; James 1:1) A Person of History (Hegesippus, Josephus)
