I WILL LEARN TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN FACT AND OPINION

A FACT… Can be proven true or false, observed, or measured Example: In Cobb County, middle school officially starts at 9:10 AM and officially ends at 4:15 PM

AN OPINION… Often uses words such as “think”, “feel”, or “should” Differs from person to person Example: In Cobb County, middle school should officially start at 9:10 AM and end at 1:15 PM

AN INFORMED OPINION… Can sometimes be confused with a fact is an opinion supported by fact Example: In Cobb County, middle school should officially start at 9:10 AM and end at 1:15 PM because many students will go into careers involving music, sports, acting, dancing, or other things not taught at school and should have an equal opportunity to refine those skills.
