BCTC/BASH Senior project Requirements: Satisfactory completion of a culminating project that relates to the student’s shop at the Career & Technology Center. Coordinated and approved by BCTC Instructor. BASH Counselor signature is required on the student’s approval form. Typically presented in the Spring of a student’s Senior Year. In some cases, it can be completed Junior Year. Digital Driver’s License (DDL) (9th & 10th) Financial Literacy (11th & 12th) **If a student leaves BCTC at any time and returns to BASH full-time, they are expected to make up the Career Portfolio requirements prior to graduation.**

Learning Academies In partnership with students, staff, and parents as well as guidance from Act 339 standards, Boyertown Area Senior High School has developed 5 academies to promote a community of learning.  These academies are an opportunity for students to tailor their education through course offerings, specialized projects, community partnerships, and other educational opportunities.  After conducting research in best practices in career academy implementation, the Boyertown School District has developed the following academies: STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Math VPFA – Visual, Performing, Fine Arts GCBL- Global Communications, Business, and Leadership HHS - Health and Human Sciences CTC – Career and Technology Center Sample Credit Plan

Standardized testing Pre-ACT Practice test for the ACT. This test was given to ALL SOPHOMORES on Wednesday October 10th. Results typically given January 2019. PSAT Practice test for the SAT. This test was given to ALL JUNIORS on Wednesday October 10th. Keystones Required state exams in ALGEBRA, BIOLOGY & ENGLISH LITERATURE typically given in December (re-takes) and May. Students must prove Proficient or better on the Keystones to receive a diploma.

1:1 Initiative BASH has assigned over 500 laptops to 10th grade students this year. For assistance with laptop issues, students should visit the Student Help Desk attached to the IT offices, currently located in the Freshman Center (former Old Building). Students can also submit a ticket online if they are experiencing difficulties. The Student Help Desk is staffed by students who have earned their HP Certified Technician Certificate. Communication is key! Student Email Accounts are vital! Students should check their school g-mail accounts weekly for updates and announcements – please encourage them as much as possible.
