The Atmosphere and the Hydrosphere Units 3 and 4. Science The Atmosphere and the Hydrosphere

Why does it rain in Colmenar Viejo? The last picture was a bit fuzzy when the slide was played large, so I replaced it with this one which might be a bit easier to see.

States of matter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-KvoVzukHo Don’t know what you think about this graphic instead to show them the three. Also, if you click on the link on the right it opens a 1 min. You tube video that shows the three states with a limited explanation and with the particles moving so they get the idea of how much each moves. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-KvoVzukHo

States of Matter Defined Mass? Defined Volume? Defined Shape? Gas Yes No Liquid Solid

Temperature and Pressure http://www.teachersdomain.org/resource/he w06.sci.phys.matter.propgas/ Evaporation Movement from high pressure to low pressure. Condensation Precipitation I’m not able to access the teachers domain thing from my computer at home.. I’ll try at school, but lets make sure it’s accessible from the computer upstairs. Maybe have them draw a quick picture next to each of these processes in their notebooks. Or create a flow chart out of the words.

Why is water so important for living beings?: Water Characteristics High specific heat1º Low densitiy when solid : ice floats on liquid water Solid at 0ºC and boils at 100ºC Good solvent I’m confused by the first line…..

The water cycle: changes of matter Stages:

Weather and Climate:The weather maps High Preassure: H Low Preassure: L Wind movement: from H to L Isobares map Cold and warm fronts
