San Miguel Volcano (Chaparrastique) El salvador 12/29/13

In December 29, 2013 the san Miguel volcano erupted at about 10:30 am with a huge explosion and heavy ash. San Miguel volcano is one of the most active volcano in El Salvador.

The san Miguel is a composite volcano and gets a lot of eruptions The san Miguel is a composite volcano and gets a lot of eruptions. In the last 3 years it had a eruption once a year that’s because of the increasing earthquakes and the frequent volcano eruption was happening since the eruption of 2013

When the volcano erupted it blasted a huge cloud of ash and gas with sulfur dioxide to sulfuric acid and it expanded about 40 kilometers! And this is the first eruption since 2002

Recuse workers are monitoring the activity of the volcano Over 5000 people were forced to be evacuated even my aunt that lives in San Miguel. The climate got a little bit colder because of the gases in the air Recuse workers are monitoring the activity of the volcano

Here is a couple of maps showing where the san Miguel volcano is located in el Salvador there are a lot of volcanos in el Salvador. The last erupted that happened in el Salvador was in January 15 2016 but it wasn’t as big as the 2013 one

In this map it shows the volcanoes of el Salvador and the plates In this map it shows the volcanoes of el Salvador and the plates. It’s in the Caribbean plate and it’s a subduction boundary

Here is a perfect example of how the volcano formed by subduction boundary. The Cocos plate and the Caribbean collide the volcano

San Vicente (volcano) el Salvador A place this event could possibly happen in the san Vincente volcano in el Salvador because it erupts frequently and its also a composite volcano San Vicente (volcano) el Salvador

Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming The only volcano that the united states is at risk is the Yellowstone volcano they should have safety precautions if the volcano erupts but that for 1000-10000 years from now
