Timothy at Ephesus Charge men to teach no other doctrine, (1 Timothy 1:3,4) Paul warned that some would fall away (1 Timothy 4:1) They will not endure sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3,4) This happened elsewhere (eg Corinth) (2 Corinthians 11:4, 13, 14)

Nicolaitans and Baalam Baalam employed to curse Israel by King of Moab (Numbers 22:6) Motivated by money - but could only speak God’s word (verse 38) Then follows idolatry and immoral behaviour with daughters of Moab (Numbers 25:1-3) This was Baalam’s idea (Numbers 31:6)
