Response Mapping for a Chemical/Biological/Radiological Disaster Michael Bufkin, Founder and Chief Solution Architect

What are we facing? Given the size and number of areas subject to the threat of a CBR event, providing the fundamental tools for a response is a daunting task. First responders to such an event will need detailed information about the location of many different features of the effected area, including Police Fire Medical Electrical Water Hazardous materials Communications Transportation And many, many others There may be no internet

How can we help? The US Dept. of Homeland Security requested a system to meet these needs. TerraGo proposed: Provide a single COTS machine that contains all needed data. Insure that it is constantly refreshed. Deliver the data in a simple, easy to use format for users who are not mapping professionals. Function in both connected and disconnected environments. TerraGo was awarded a contract in April, 2012.

The Deployable Mapbook Composer Hardware A high performance, standalone laptop computer ASUS G75VW DS73-3D Intel® Core i7-3610QM 16 GB RAM Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 Two (2) - 1TB Hard drives DVD/CD/Blue Ray

The Deployable Mapbook Composer Software ESRI ArcGIS Server ESRI ArcGIS Desktop TerraGo Publisher for ArcGIS Desktop TerraGo SDK v3.2 TerraGo Desktop Toolbar v6 Python GDal

The Deployable Mapbook Composer The Self-refreshing data store All data is cached locally Imagery Vectors Ground photos Reports Web connections Data sources are polled for change. Maps are automatically refreshed on schedule. All maps and data are available when disconnected.

Delivered As GeoPDF Mapbook A mapbook is a collection of maps and data that utilizes geospatially enabled PDF files to: Manipulate multiple layers Display features of map objects Display and zoom to coordinates Measure distances and areas Track GPS locations Collect and share field observations Utilizes both laptop and mobile hardware with the free Adobe Reader, TerraGo Mobile or Avenza PDF Map software
