The Spanish Civil War July 1936-March 1939

What? A bloody civil war with over 1 million casualties. Spaniard against Spaniard – ripped the country apart

Civil War or International War?

Ideological War This war broke out over who ruled Spain It became a war of ideologies – Left v Right Socialism (& Communism) v Fascism It became a war involving other Fascist & Communist powers but NOT the Democracies We must find out WHY the Democratic countries DID NOT get involved & why they ended up appeasing the Fascist powers – AGAIN!!!
