1848- Seneca Falls Convention Declaration of Sentiments includes demand for suffrage- the right to vote

1866- Stanton presents a petition to Congress demanding women’s right to vote Women are not included in 15th Amendment (1870) guaranteeing African Americans suffrage

1869- Stanton and Susan B Anthony form the NWSA to secure voting rights for women 1872- Susan B Anthony arrested for trying to vote in Rochester, NY

1890- Wyoming becomes 1st state in which women have the right to vote 1890- NAWSA forms from a merger of suffrage groups….
