Consider that attendees will print in black and white or grayscale. Run a test print to make sure your colors work when printed in pure black and white and grayscale. Graphics, tables, and graphs Keep it simple: If possible, use consistent, non-distracting styles and colors. Label all graphs and tables.

Define the goal of this project Is it similar to projects in the past or is it a new effort? Define the scope of this project Is it an independent project or is it related to other projects? * Note that this slide is not necessary for weekly status meetings

Classroom Procedures Why do we need classroom procedures? We are going to be doing a lot of hands on labs in this class. Procedures keep the classroom safe. Procedures communicate expectations. What are we going do in this class? We are going to be doing a lot of hands on activities such as labs, making models, drawing, etc. We are going to keep a notebook. * If any of these issues caused a schedule delay or need to be discussed further, include details in next slide.

Procedures What are the classroom procedures? Follow instructions. Stay in our seat or at your own lab. Be safe. Be kind. Talking is encouraged at manageable volumes. Be prepared. Be here. All the school procedures are enforced in this class. Read the handbook. Duplicate this slide as necessary if there is more than one issue. This and related slides can be moved to the appendix or hidden if necessary.

Scenarios What should you do if you need to sharpen your pencil? What should you do if you don’t finish an assignment in class? What should you do if you finish an assignment early? What should you do if you are tardy? What should you do if you do not understand the directions for an assignment?

Arrival to class When the bell rings Take out your notebook and materials needed for class. Place your personal items in a cubby. Be seated and begin working on the bell work. When the bell rings Everyone should be in their seat during this time. Everyone should be working on the bell work.

General Classroom Expectations Respect others personal space. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Be respectful of everyone and everything. Allow others to finish speaking before you start speaking.

Expectations During Instruction Please give teacher your full attention. Please wait to be recognized by the teacher before you begin speaking. Please wait until teacher gives permission before you begin a lab or any project other than the bell work.

Expectations during lab work You must stay at your lab station unless you have permission to leave. You must contribute to your lab to receive credit. Always get permission to begin the lab. Follow instructions. If you are unsure ask for help. UNSAFE LAB PROCEDURES RESULT IN: Sitting out the lab Leaving your lab station without permission or any behavior that is not safe will result in a sitting out the lab.

Expectations during team work You will be assigned a team. Within your team you will be assigned a role. For example: reporter, facilitator, time keeper, or materials manager. Teams should be focused on the task. Each team member will contribute to receive credit.

Prompts If I raise my hand, you are to stop talking, face me, and raise your hand until everyone in the classroom has stopped talking and I lower my hand. THANK YOU 

End of Class I will remind you when the bell is about to ring. You should begin clean up. You may return to your assigned seat quietly when you have permission. All lab work is due before class dismissal.

School Rules and policies All school rules as outlined in your student handbook will be enforced. Read the handbook. Attendance is important. Be sure you know the policy, and remember, if you follow the policy you can be exempt from EXAMS!!!!
