Conclusions

Introduction Attention Getter Necessary Background Thesis Remember this example of an introduction? Where we go from our most broad sentence to our most specific sentence?

Thesis (reworded) 3 prongs (reworded) Conclusions Epiphany

Conclusions Thesis (reworded) The thesis in a conclusion is NOT identical to the thesis from the introduction. This thesis includes the argument, but not the 3 prongs to support the argument. You need to remind the reader of the paper’s argument. 3 prongs (reworded) Conclusions Epiphany

Conclusions Thesis (reworded) In the middle section of the conclusion paragraph, remind your reader of the evidence. Look back at your body paragraphs for the most effective evidence. This support should NOT simply be copied and pasted from your body paragraphs. 3 prongs (reworded) Conclusions Epiphany

Conclusions Thesis (reworded) The epiphany is normally the most difficult part of the conclusion paragraph to write. Focus on the “big picture” idea instead of your argument. 3 prongs (reworded) What idea should the reader take away from the paper? Conclusions What idea from the paper applies to the reader’s life? What is this essay really about? What thematic element does the paper explain? What is said about this topic? Epiphany
