Case Study 3: The Cuban Missile Crises The Cold War goes Global 3 Date: Case Study 3: The Cuban Missile Crises Objective Examine the height of tension between the U.S. And Soviet Union during the Cold War. Warm-up: Take out homework We shall discuss the answers to the questions given last class. Question 1-7 page 86.

Notes Cuban Missile Crises: the most dangerous episode in the Cold War was in 1962. Missiles were shipped to Cuba where they could have hit American cites. This act and the American response could have started an actual war. Fidel Castro: Cuba is an island off the coast of America where rich tourist once went and many U.S. businesses once were. In 1959, a dictator who had been supported by the Americans revolted, took the businesses and defeated the Americans.
