Presentation transcript:

Romeo and Juliet film proposal Produced by Ms. Ruiz English 1H - Period 1 April 2018

Setting Time period: modern day (2018) Setting: high school in Los Angeles, CA Reasons why: Here is why we decided to have this setting and time period. Do you want your setting in modern time? Underwater (think The Little Mermaid)? At a specific place (McDonalds vs Burger King)? You can stick to something traditional or think out of the box (within reason)

Costumes Description of the costumes - what would the characters be wearing? Men? Women? Include pictures as well The costumes need to reflect the setting and time period you have selected

Casting Romeo: Tom Holland This is why we picked him Here’s another reason why he would be good for Romeo Repeat for four of the characters, then list the rest in the presentation.

Minor casting Nurse: Katy Perry Friar Lawrence: Jimmy Kimmel Lord Montague: John Krasinski Lord Capulet: Rainn Wilson Paris: Zac Efron

Soundtrack - need to do this for every song Scene: Romeo and Juliet confessing their love for one another (balcony scene as Romeo is watching her from below, then when they finally talk and kiss again) Song: “Church” by Fall Out Boy Reason: religious imagery that mirrors the way Romeo and Juliet speak to one another infatuation with each other and willingness to do anything for their love Foreshadowing of their impending doom to mirror her “I will kill thee with love” line Lyrics: “If you were church, I'd get on my knees Confess my love, I'd know where to be My sanctuary, you're holy to me If you were church, I'd get on my knees I'd get on my knees, I'd get on my knees Oh, the things that you do in the name of what you love You are doomed but just enough

Marketing Partnerships Brand: Lexus Reasoning: Luxury car brand to match the luxury lifestyles of the Capulets and Montagues Help us broaden our audience to people who enjoy this car Marketing: Lexus cars in the film during wild car chases between the Montagues and Capulets Lexus commercials featuring a love story

Marketing Partnerships Brand: Kate Spade Reasoning: Popular clothing/accessories brand among teenagers and women (broad audience) Cute and fun styles, can reflect Juliet Marketing: Have a Romeo and Juliet line of purses and accessories Juliet will have Kate Spade purses/accessories in the film
