Biomechanics Y10 AADP

Biomechanics Bio = body Mechanics = workings Biomechanics is the study of how and what makes the body move.

Biomechanical Terms

Force The pushing or pulling action that on object applies to another. Gravity Wind Water Mass

Mass The weight of a force or object applied to another object.

Speed The rate at which a body moves from one point to another. S = D / T

Acceleration Is the rate at which speed changes with respect to time. V1 – V2 / time = a

Inertia Inertia is a body's resistance to change in motion and it relates to the mass of the body. For example a medicine ball will have more inertia than a ping pong ball.
