Point of View Day 1: Omniscient

Omniscient=All knowing Narrator… is not a character. Not in the story at all. Can tell us what everyone is thinking. Can tell us what has already happened, what is happening not, and what will happen.

Omniscient = All Knowing I DO Omniscient = All Knowing Manny was just kidding when he dared his friend Jason to do a back flip off the edge. Jason wasn’t afraid of the dare because he had done this before, but never told Manny about his skill. The boys were having the time of their lives.

3rd person limited to……….. I DO 3rd person limited to……….. Write 3-5 sentences describing this scene in 3rd person limited to ONE character.

Omniscient = All Knowing We Do Omniscient = All Knowing Let’s do one together! Look on pg. 348 in your Holt books Find the Cartoon. On your index card, write 3 sentences describing the picture in omniscient point of view.

Cartoon We do Meets/Exceeds: The boy lay on the bed trying to see through the dark. He kept hearing sounds that made him wonder whether there might be something under the bed. The two monsters lay under the bed, wishing they had more room. Each time the boy stirred, they felt uneasy; there seemed to be something on the bed abo e them.

Omniscient=All Knowing You Do Omniscient=All Knowing Your Turn! On a piece of paper, write 3 sentences describing each picture above in omniscient point of view.
