Summer School (GHG07/41) First event of its kind and was a tremendous success from IEA GHG’s perspective Issues over budget raised by members Can confirm that we came in under budget Did not use all the IEA GHG “seed money” Propose we carry this over for future events Student feedback was sought Feedback was very positive Constructive feedback for future events Students have themselves formed a contact group Plan to continue to work with them to develop future events Wider issues need to include: Potential capacity Availability of primary energy source Overall environmental impact – safety, social factors, sustainability

Summer School IEA GHG propose this should now be a regular annual event The school should rotate like the GHGT series Europe to America to Asia IEA GHG should follow the same procedure as the GHGT series Draw up a Scope for the Summer School Agree a MoU will the hosts in each case Unlike the GHGT series IEA GHG control the registrations/budget IEA GHG host the summer school on our web site IEA GHG would like to engage members more directly in supporting the summer school activity Action Members are invited to agree to IEA GHG running an annual CCS summer school Wider issues need to include: Potential capacity Availability of primary energy source Overall environmental impact – safety, social factors, sustainability
