How free is free? In this case, free means no direct costs In other words... We dont take into account the cost of buying a computer or paying for a broadband Internet connection.

Whats with the ? The hidden, oft-forgotten cost will be revealed at the end!

What is podcasting? Recording audio files and placing them online in such a way that enables each new file to be downloaded automatically by software such as iTunes.

Recording for free Typical Mac User Podcast studio from a few years back. What a lot of tech!

Recording for free I currently use an old IBM ThinkPad and an Altec Lansing headphone/mic combo

Recording for free HP Windows 7 laptop, built-in mic Apple iPhone 4 USB mics are best if the Windows laptops sound card isnt particularly good. You can use a handheld alternative
