Killing Mr. griffin Chapters 13-14 Notes

Chapter 13 Sue is having dinner with her family. She begins noticing small details about her mother, father, and her brothers that she did not notice before. The news reports the disappearance of Mr. Griffin. Sue’s father asks her about Mr. Griffin and Sue explains that he is her English teacher. As Sue is helping to clean up dinner, someone knocks on the door. _________________ stopped by to see Sue and ask her a few questions about the disappearance of her husband. Mrs. McConnell invites Mrs. Griffin inside. Mrs. Griffin accuses Sue of lying to the police. Mrs. Griffin says that her story about Mr. Griffin being agitated and rushed does not add up. He couldn’t have been looking at his ______________ during the conference with Sue because his ________________ is broken and Mrs. Griffin was going to get it repaired. Also, Mrs. Griffin wants to know how Sue knew what color pants the “young woman” in Mr. Griffin’s car was wearing since Sue saw her as she was walking across the parking lot. Mrs. Griffin calls Sue a liar. However, Mr. and Mrs. McConnell stand up for her. ____________ and ____________ knock on the door and interrupt the conversation with Mrs. Griffin. Chapter 14 _____________’s grandma believes that David is acting strange. She starts to piece together David’s lies and shares these lies with his mother. David’s grandma also claims that David’s father has come back and that is the reason why David is gone so often. David’s mother doesn’t believe her, but his grandmother claims to have “proof.” ______________, Mark’s old girlfriend, goes to see Detective Baca. She and her fiancé have found Mr. Griffin’s ______________ out by the waterfall. Lana explains that she and Mark use to date and spend a lot of time out at the waterfall. She also tells Detective Baca that she and her fiancé saw an area that looked as if someone had been digging up dirt. Mark, Sue, Betsy, and David are getting cokes at the Snack N’ Soda. Mark is angry with _______________ because she got a speeding ticket on the day that Mr. Griffin was kidnapped. This speeding ticket could ruin their _____________. Also, Mark finds out that the same cop who gave her the ticket saw her in the airport parking lot the following day. Mark says that they must move the car and hide it in Jeff’s garage. Jeff comes in and has some very bad news. He explains that Mr. Griffin’s ______________ was found. He agrees to hide Mr. Griffin’s car in his garage and he says that he will paint it a different color. Mark goes in the bathroom and flushes Mr. Griffin’s credit cards down the toilet.
