Let’s construct the story. One day an ant went to the river to drink water.

Suddenly the ant slipped and fell into the water. A dove sitting on a tree nearby saw the ant.

The dove picked up a leaf and put it near the ant in the water. The ant climbed on the leaf and floated to safety.

‘A’ , ‘An’ or ‘The’ are called Articles ‘A’ , ‘An’ or ‘The’ are used before a singular, countable noun. Example: a banana  an umbrella the book

‘A’ is used before a word which begins with a consonant. Example: a woman a teacher

‘An’ is used Example: an apple an hour    Before a noun which begins with a vowel or with a vowel sound . Example: an apple an hour 

a particular thing or person. ‘The’ is used before   a particular thing or person. names of famous buildings, etc.

When the same thing or person is mentioned again. ‘The’ is also used when When there is only one such thing. When the same thing or person is mentioned again.

Example: I bought an orange. The orange is sweet. the earth, the sun, the moon  The Eiffel Tower
