High School Preparation No real preparation is necessary other than meeting basic entry requirements It does look good to have taken part in Ready, Set, Teach!

Admission Requirements All new undergraduate admission applicants are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of $45. Successfully complete the recommended or advanced high school program or complete the portion of the program that was available to them; or Successfully complete a curriculum that is equivalent in content and rigor to the recommended or advanced high school program at a high school that is exempt from offering such programs; or Satisfy the College Readiness Benchmarks on the SAT or ACT assessment SAT – 1500 out of 2400 (this score requirement includes writing) ACT – 18 English, 21 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 24 Science Taken from http://www.sfasu.edu/admissions/freshmen/

Major/Minor In order to become an English teacher at SFA, students must major in English with a concentration in Secondary Education Students will prepare for certification tests (TExES content area test and PPR) in classes
