WHY STUDY SOCIOLOGY?

What is the difference between an individual and a society? Individual-a single human being, distinguished from a group Society-A large social group that shares the same geographical territory and is subject to the same government and dominant cultural expectations.

Personal Problem v. Public Issue Personal Problem: A problem or issue that impacts an individual Public Issue-An issue that impacts society and requires the group to work together to solve the issue.

GLOBAL INTERDEPENENCE The relationship in which the lives of all people are intertwined closely A nation’s problem is often part of a larger global problem.
