Global Supply Chain Logistic Overview Chapter 1 - CLA Global Supply Chain Logistic Overview Activity: Have participants create and draw the supply chain logistic life cycle for a common item (pen, tape dispenser, bottle water, etc). Present the life cycle to the group. Should include raw materials, manufacturing processes and warehouse/DC as well as transportation modes between each cycle, and any reverse flows. Time: 20 - 30 minutes Objectives: Demonstrating the Supply Chain Lifecycle flow Defining how each facility within the supply chain contributes to the success of the overall flow Describing how product handling affects a company’s viability and profitability Discussion: Discuss the facilities within a supply chain network - raw material providers, production facilities, warehouse/distribution centers and transportation How does each step in the life cycle add cost to the product? Materials Needed: Flip charts Markers Common items to be mapped through the Supply Chain Lifecycle
