Purpose: Familiarize your with new words related to Social Studies Help improve understanding of what you are reading/learning Prepare you for language you will see on both your assessments and the End of Grade tests

Steps 1-3 DON’T FOREGET YOUR NAME! This is your source; your bibliography so to speak. Let me know where the word is coming from. The word has got to be from the Word Wall or an article you read in S.S. class This is the word you’ve chosen to use. Please don’t continuously reuse the same words. It should be one you don’t already know

Steps 4-6 Define the word. Be sure that it is the correct definition (in context with the reading) Show your mastery of the word by using it correctly in a sentence. It does not have to be about S.S. either Use at least 1 word that means the same as your word
