Presentation transcript:

Non-communicable or non-infectious disease can have many adverse effects, not just on a person’s health. TASK: Mind map these possible effects on …. The individual The family/ friends Local community Nation Global community.

Link up the life style choice with the disease it can cause. Disease caused Diet, smoking, lack of exercise Lung Disease and Lung cancer Obesity Underdevelopment of Unborn babies Smoking Cardiovascular disease Smoking and Alcohol Cancer Carcinogens Type 2 diabetes

Research and answer these questions: Why is quitting smoking recommended to patients with a family history of cancer? Why is smoking difficult to give up? 3. What is and what causes cirrhosis? 4. What lifestyle choices can increase the chance of having CVD? 5. Why does a bad diet increase your risk of having CVD? 6. Why does regular exercise improve your health.

For each of the graphs describe the relationship shown and use your knowledge to explain these. Answer any questions regarding the graphs

Example: This graph shows that all types of disease have increased between 1990 and 2020. All of these could in part be due to a change in the population’s lifestyle choices, such as a poor diet, smoking and a reduction in exercise.
