Meeting Preparations Plan. Write your questions down before starting the interview Record. Use a recording device, or your smartphone to record the conversation. This way you will freely ask questions in a more natural way, without having to take notes Do your homework. Know your customer background and any issues having in respect to the product. Does he/she want support over the existing product ?

Some directions to a proper interview are….. Frame the discussion: “I’m going to start the interview by asking about your role in the company” Avoid leading questions. Don’t ask questions of the type “Would that button be helpful?”. Ask “How will that button be helpful?” Don’t ask why. Don’t try to figure out WHY by asking. Try to find out “why”. Ask who, what, where, when, and how. Avoid yes/no questions. Try not to ask questions of type YES or No. Use questions that will get you to that answer, plus they will give you more feedback. Ask for examples. Don’t ask “What do you do in a meeting”. Ask using a past event, like “How your last meeting went with the customers?” Don’t ask two-part questions. Avoid connecting two questions together. Take a pause and ask the second part as a second question. For example, “How to you measure the visitors In your website?” . “What type of analytics tools you use?”

The time for the interviews is about 30-45 minutes

Interviewing can be also done during the lighting talks, so the entire team can listen to what the user have to say
