BAE Systems Engineering Taster Weeks 2017 A Brief Introduction 10th July – 14th July 2017 17th July – 21st July 2017

Overview In July 2017, BAE Systems Military Air and Information will be hosting two residential Engineering Taster Weeks. This great opportunity is aimed at 16 - 18 year olds, interested in studying a STEM subject at university, or planning to apply for an apprenticeship programme. The weeks will be held at Warton Aerodrome in Lancashire, home to the Eurofighter Typhoon final assembly. The Taster Weeks will challenge and engage students through a realistic engineering based project, site tours and product demonstrations. Accommodation and food costs are covered by BAE Systems. Students are only required to get themselves to and from Warton at the start and end of the week.

Activities The challenging group project will be based around creating a bid package for a fictional country. At the end of the week students will be required to present their bid to senior BAE Systems engineers, peers and parents. Prizes will be awarded to recognise individual and team achievement. There will be opportunities to tour some of our most advanced facilities and discuss the varied work we do with BAE Systems employees. In the evenings, more informal activities will take place including sports and team building activities.

How to Apply Candidates can apply online at http://www.baesystems.com/en/etw/warton Applications are open from 1st February 2017 and close on the 28th of April 2017 There are a limited number of 20 spaces available on each of the two Taster Weeks More information can be found on our website Any enquiries can be sent to taster.week@baesystems.com Thank you
