Image Resolution DPI = Dots Per Inch Windows default DPI is 96 DPI If you scan a photograph at 96 DPI, the scanned image will be roughly the same dimensions as the original (if viewed at 100% zoom) If you scan at higher DPI, the scanned image will be larger than the original Scanner can scan at 75, 150, 200 and 300 DPI
